Short papers

Business Finance

Students will develop a short papers indicating understanding and perceptions of key content points from assigned chapters.

Papers will include:

  • Title/cover page
  • Introduction (approximately 2 paragraphs)
  • Content/Critical Thinking Analysis
    • Identify key concepts
    • Theories and models from weekly assigned chapters in textbook
    • How can you apply this information to an organization-give examples
  • Conclusion
  • References (Scholarly/Peer Reviewed and Textbook)

Papers will be 4-5 pages in content length, mostly narrative in format. See the Rubric for specific details to guide you in developing your papers.

Papers must follow APA guidelines (especially in regards to citing sources to avoid plagiarized work). Students will utilize content from the textbook, and any additional resources, such as scholarly articles/journals, books, assigned videos. (Note: Wikipedia is not a scholarly resource).

“Critical Thinking involves analysis, evaluation, and a synthesizing of facts, ideas, opinions and theories” (Jones, 2013, para. 1). Critically think (analyze, evaluate, synthesize) the key concepts in your assigned readings in the textbook, articles, etc. Provide examples (clear, specific, and justify your opinions with facts) on how you can apply these theories and concepts within an organization. Use the material from the textbook, discussion boards, videos, and any other resources to assist you in developing your paper.
