  1. Write your paper with inclusion of one or more paragraphs for each of the following steps. Include headings that are similar in wording and APA formatted.
    1. Introduction.
    2. Company Selection and Overview. The purpose of this section is for you to begin to gather data about the work environment at the organization. Include the following in your overview:
      1. Company name.
      2. Industry.
      3. Safety and health activities and programs. Identify the ways the company has taken initiative to achieve a safe and healthy work environment (i.e., committees or special positions of responsibility, activities, policy statements, rules, codes, guidelines for proper workplace procedures, accident investigation, and recordkeeping).
      4. Regarding the organization’s workplace, identify the following:
        1. Common hazard risks.
        2. Common injury and/or illness risks.
        3. Common means for addressing risks of fatalities, injuries or illnesses (i.e., skin diseases or disorders, respiratory, poisonings, hearing loss, other such as musculoskeletal).
      5. Based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) “Industry and Illness Data – 2015,” how does the organization’s workplace data in 1.-3. above compare and contrast with the industry data collected nationally by the BLS?
    3. Overview of the Four-Point Workplace Program. In a brief overview, explain the four-point workplace program, as described in the OSHA handbook.
    4. Using the Four-Point Program. “Although voluntary, [the program] represents OSHA’s policy on what every worksite should have in place to protect workers from occupational hazards” (OSHA, 2005, p. 8). Accordingly, this section will give you an opportunity to determine actionable items the organization can take to maximize achievement of workplace safety and health. Follow the instructions listed below.
      1. Management Commitment and Employee Involvement.
        1. Provide an overview of management commitment and employee involvement, addressing what it is, why it is needed, and various ways it can be accomplished that are applicable to the organization’s industry.
        2. Describe the organization’s current policies and practices for management commitment and employee involvement.
        3. Create one policy or procedure—beyond their current policies and practices—based upon your identification of various ways to achieve management commitment and employee involvement. As necessary, place the policy or procedure in the appendices section of the paper with inclusion of a reference to it in the body of the paper.
      2. Worksite Analysis.
        1. Provide an overview of worksite analysis, addressing what it is, why it is needed, and various ways it can be accomplished that are applicable to the organization’s industry.
        2. Describe the organization’s current policies and practices for worksite analysis.
        3. Recommend at least two actions the organization should take—beyond their current policies and practices—based upon your identification of various ways to achieve worksite analysis. As necessary, place the policy or procedure in the appendices section of the paper with inclusion of a reference to it in the body of the paper.
      3. Hazard Prevention and Control.
        1. Provide an overview of hazard prevention and control, addressing what it is, why it is needed, and various ways it can be accomplished that are applicable to the organization’s industry.
        2. Describe the organization’s current policies and practices for hazard prevention and control.
        3. Create one policy or procedure—beyond their current policies and practices—based upon your identification of various ways to achieve hazard prevention and control. As necessary, place the policy or procedure in the appendices section of the paper with inclusion of a reference to it in the body of the paper.
      4. Training for Employees, Supervisors, and Managers.
        1. Provide an overview of occupational health and safety training for employees, supervisors, and managers, addressing what it is, why it is needed, and various ways it can be accomplished that are applicable to the organization’s industry.
        2. Describe the organization’s current policies and practices in the training for employees, supervisors, and managers.
        3. Create one policy or procedure—beyond their current policies and practices—based upon your identification of various ways to provide training for employees, supervisors, and managers. As necessary, place the policy or procedure in the appendices section of the paper with inclusion of a reference to it in the body of the paper.
      5. Integration of Faith and Learning. Review the 2.1 Scripture and devotional reading and complete the following as a “fifth point” in the occupational safety and health plan:
        1. In what ways could human resources promote spiritual wellbeing in the workplace by means of policies, procedures, and/or programs?
        2. Create one policy or procedure—beyond their current policies and practices—based upon your identification of various ways to promote spiritual wellbeing in the workplace. As necessary, place the policy or procedure in the appendices section of the paper with inclusion of a reference to it in the body of the paper.
    5. Conclusion.
  2. Your paper should be 800-1,000 words in length, not including the title page, reference page, or appendix items.
  3. Use APA formatting. At a minimum, cite: (1) the OSHA Small Business Handbook, (2) The Employer’s Legal Handbook, and (3) an HR professional or governmental website (i.e., OSHA, Bureau of Labor Statistics, etc.). Note that your company’s website may be substituted for the third resource.
