Influence of Fandom on Film Production

This is a Research Proposal Paper on the topic of Influence of Fandom on Film Production, which needs at least three scholar from the annotated bibliography.

Research proposal papers should include the following components:

  • An introduction to the project and why it matters
  • A primary research question and thesis statement
  • Research method (how you are going to answer your questions?)
  • A Literature Review (an organized analysis of sources that help illuminate your topic)
  • A brief conclusion outlining your preliminary findings and laying the ground for the rest of your research paper.

The largest part of your short paper should be dedicated to the literature review, which sets up the background information necessary to understand your study and to understand where it fits in the current literature. The “core” of your review of literature should be a synthesis of scholarship that relates to your general topic (and perhaps your more specific topic), and which shows that you understand the conversation already happening on this issue and how your research paper will join into that conversation. You should already have at least three scholarly sources from your annotated bibliography. You may need to add more to produce a substantive analysis of the literature. Remember that most of the scholarly sources you’ve gathered should themselves include literature review sections. Build on their work.

You should organize your literature review as a “reverse pyramid” with the most general information related to your topic or focus of study first, then working your way to scholarly articles or book chapters that are more relevant or that address your topic more specifically. You can also use your literature review to demonstrate where there is a “gap” in the scholarship that your project may fill (this is a more sophisticated, but generally more effective way of using the literature review).

Your literature review also works to establish the relevance of your research (why there is a need and/or interest for it), and to emphasize your (the author’s) unique contribution to the scholarship that already exists. Further, it allows you to advance your own argument in your essay by pointing to supporting evidence (scholarship) and any possible oversights (where your work will offer a correction or a new perspective).

While the goal of this paper is to set up your larger research project, it should also stand on its own as a cohesive, coherent essay.
